My Reading History |
What Was That Book? Have I Read This One? Helen Plum Library can help with their new service called "My Reading History". The Library will keep a running record of what you’ve checked out which you can then access at any time from your online account. To start building your history go to the Helen Plum Library homepage at www.plum.lib.il.us and click on My Library Account. You will be asked for your name, card number, and pin. Then click on "My Reading History" and choose "opt in" to start. Once you "opt in" your reading history begins with a list you can view whenever you wish. You can also "opt out" or delete items from the list at any time. The staff of the Helen Plum Library hopes this will be a big help to their patrons in remembering which books in a series they have already checked out, or if they have or have not seen a certain movie. How convenient! |

Helen Plum Library Gets Green with Energy Grant |
The Helen Plum Library is getting greener. The library was pleased to be awarded an energy grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation in 2007 which was then used for lighting upgrades throughout the library. Many older fixtures and light bulbs were replaced over the last several months with new energy efficient fixtures and light bulbs. The final result is a brighter and cheerier library with less energy used and less heat generated from the fixtures. If you have been in the library this summer, you may have noticed the brighter lighting. If you haven’t been in recently, it’s time to pay us a visit! |
