Mr. & Mrs. Smith (PG-13)
This movie was really awesome and very funny. Brad Pitt did a brilliant job as well as Angelina Jolie. I want to go see it again!

The Longest Yard (PG-13)

I don't normally like football movies, but this one was excellent with a good plot.

Reviewer: Stephanie, age 17

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (PG-13)

Good graphics! I thought it was awesome. The only bad thing is the actors sometimes get whiny or say corny things. Otherwise, this is one movie you don't want to miss.

It's a movie that makes you think how life is different in other cultures. The movie is in Spanish, but it has subtitles.

Now and Then (PG-13)

Now and Then is a typical coming of age story with some atypical twists. It follows the story of four young girls in the '70s growing up and learning things about themselves over the course of a summer. This movie will make you laugh and cry and it is a movie you will want to share with your friends.

Reviewer: Tifani, age 16

Sound of Music (G)

Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer make this movie great.

Reviewer: Jacob, age 15

Velvet Goldmine (R)

It goes back to the 70's and 80's Glam Era. It's big on homosexualism. If you don't like either, I don't recommend watching it.

Reviewer: Jaime, age 17

White Noise (PG-13)

This movie was quite scary, but at such random times. It didn't make sense. The plot was also quite pointless, the movie was a huge waste of my time!

Lost Girl from el Monte
by Benita Bishop

My mom gave me this book to read after I said how much I liked 'Go Ask Alice'. This book is also a diary of a girl who hangs out with the wrong kind of guys at first and then she decides to try to change her life for the better. Its in the 70's and the girl who writes this diary had been ditching school a lot with friends, but then she quits to try harder to do better in school. A month later someone who is jealous of her snitches on her about her ditching. She gets in a lot of trouble but still wants to make things better. She tries out for cheerleading and ends up being the only one who doesn't get picked for a squad. Her two older sisters tell her she's ugly and make fun of her so she decides to take up tennis. She gets pretty good at it and joins the Tennis team. Then she meets a guy and goes crazy over him. He likes her but wants his freedom also. They go surfing together all summer and eventually she find out things about him that make problems for them. I won't say what happens next because things get really dramatic and her feelings fly up and down on this rollercoaster ride of a book. There are some really funny things that happen in this book and then there are some sad events that I found myself relating to. All teen experience heartbreak and depression and its interesting to read a true story about how someone else dealt with this experience.

The Hanged Man
by Francesca Lia Block

This book is written in Block's usual lyrical prose and is definitely a worthwhile read. It can be a little confusing at times, as all Block's books are, yet once you've read it twice, you will fall in love!

Heartland (#1-20 & super edition)
by Lauren Brooke

I love this series. I have been reading it since the first book came out when I was 10 and after 5 years it's over. This series is about Amy and her work at her horse farm rehabilitating abused and /or frightened horses. Amy is easy to relate to and it feels like you are there with her through all the books.

Life Inside: A Memoir
by Mindy Lewis

Although this book is an adult book, I would recommend it for older teens (it has some strong language). This book follows the author's teen years in a New York mental hospital in the late '50s and early '60s, where she was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia. You will feel a kinship with all the characters, even if you have not dealt with mental illness firsthand. This book can, at times, make you laugh and cry (or both at the same time). It is my personal favorite.!

The Runaway Jury
by John Grishman

Starts out slow, but once you get into it you don't want to put it down.

Reviewer: Chelsea, age 17

The Sight
by David Clement-Davies

Wolf twins, Larka and Fell, are born to a wolf pack during a time when old legends are becoming real. These two young wolves have no idea what's in store from them, how they will have to use the power of the sight to fight against great odds to stop...or maybe even fulfill.. the legend of the Man varg.

The sight is a book that pulls you in, that keeps you so full of suspense that you can't put it down, even if you want to. The author has created a completely different world that is very captivating. He also puts a lot of similarities to our world into his book.

Superman: Last Son of Krypton
by Elliot S. Maggin

I enjoyed this immensley. You don't have to know that much about the DC universe to read it, although it helps. It was interesting to read a real novel about superman; no pictures and speech bubbles. I recommend it.

CD title: Wicked: a new musical : original Broadway cast recording
Artist: Schwartz, Stephen

"Defying Gravity," sung by Idina Menzel, is the best song in the hit Broadway musical, Wicked. The tune, harmony, instruments... everything about this song is to die for. This is coming from someone who loves musicals. If you share the same feeling for musicals, you would love "Defying Gravity." Near the end of the song, at that point, if you don't have goosebumps, there's something wrong with your arm. The song has meaning, too. It shows that nobody can bring you down unless you let them. "Defying Gravity"
is one of the best songs I have ever heard.

Reviewer: Tyler

CD title: Celebrity
Artist: *NSYNC

Yes, I still love *NSYNC ... once an *NSYNC fan, always an *NSYNC fan. You have to admit their music is better than the songs today w/ swears every other word! : )

Reviewer: Laura, age 16

CD title: Love. Angel. Music. Baby

This CD is an amazing CD. It is a fun party CD and proves Stefani's versatility. Some highlights are the songs "Hollaback Girl" and "What you Waiting For?"

This cd is a salvation cd. It will hopefully effect you greatly as it did me and others. May you find and love God as he would have wanted you to!

CD title: Exodus
Artist: Utada

Utada is the exotic name of one of the best selling artists in Japan. Utada's recent excursion is the crossing over into the American market with her English debut: Exodus. Exodus is an amazing cd which travels through different genres of music; from upbeat, to morose, from techno dance beats to hip hop tunes, from pop to ballad, and this cd has got it all. With her infectious beats and breath taking lyrics, Utada is an amazing performer and artist. If you are a fan of her Japanese music, or just recently discovered Utada, you will love this cd. Exodus, is truly a must have for any avid music listener.

CD title: The Places You have Come to Fear the Most
Artist: Dashboard Confessional

This CD will leave you wondering, "does he ever get the girl?" The lyrics are meaningful, and anybody who has ever been through a first love or first heartbreak will relate. If you like this, check out Further Seems Forever's CDs; they are Chris Carrabba's (Dashboard's singer) band.

Reviewer: Tifani, age 16

CD title: Spend the Night
Artist: The Donnas

It's a great CD for people who love punk music. It has a good headbanging beat. This CD is also good to dance to.

Reviewer: Kate, age 16

CD title: Stripped
Artist: Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera's sophomore release shows her true talent (she wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on this album). While some songs can be repetitive or clichéd, most teach a valuable lesson. This CD is great for girls, young and older alike, with many songs having a message to believe in yourself.

CD title: Waiting for My Rocket to Come
Artist: Jason Mraz

A great CD to chill out with.
